About the Position
Aaction Home Repairs & Restoration is a residential insurance restoration company looking for an experienced Reconstruction Operations Manager to oversee our reconstruction department and lead our team of Project Managers.
This position is responsible for making sure reconstruction projects are being properly planned, scheduled, managed, and completed profitably while also meeting the requirements of our insurance carrier and TPA partners.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of the residential insurance restoration process and the workflow between insurance carriers, TPAs, contractors, and members/policyholders. This includes understanding program requirements, approvals, communication expectations, documentation, estimating, supplements, and the steps required to move a project from an approved scope through completion.
Our Project Managers handle the day-to-day management of their individual projects. The Reconstruction Operations Manager will oversee the PMs, review job performance, help resolve problems, make sure company and program requirements are being followed, and hold the team accountable.
This is an in-person position based out of our Millersville, Maryland office. This is not a satellite or remote position.
We are looking for someone with a strong construction and insurance restoration background who can manage people, understand job costs, keep projects moving, and help improve the department as we continue to grow.

What Success Looks Like
The right person for this position will help create a reconstruction department where projects are planned before work starts, Project Managers understand their budgets, subcontractor costs are controlled, change orders are handled properly, and jobs stay on schedule.
They will make sure Project Managers are communicating with customers, carriers, and TPAs, following both company and program requirements, and taking responsibility for the performance of their projects.
They should also understand that insurance restoration involves more than simply completing construction. Each project has requirements from the carrier, TPA, and member that need to be managed throughout the life of the job.
We are looking for someone who can look at the reconstruction department as a whole, recognize problems early, and work with the Project Managers to get them corrected.

Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee Reconstruction Project Managers
- Hold Project Managers accountable for scheduling, communication, job performance, and profitability
- Review active reconstruction projects on a regular basis
- Identify projects that are behind schedule, over budget, or having other issues
- Make sure projects are properly planned before work begins
- Make sure carrier and TPA requirements are being followed throughout the project
- Monitor communication and workflow between Project Managers, carriers, TPAs, members, and other parties involved in the claim
- Make sure required approvals and documentation are obtained throughout the project
- Review subcontractor pricing, material costs, and job budgets
- Make sure projects are properly bought out
- Monitor job costs and gross profit throughout the project
- Review and manage change orders
- Make sure additional work is approved before it is completed
- Review subcontractor invoices and make sure they match the agreed scope and pricing
- Help Project Managers resolve issues with homeowners, subcontractors, vendors, adjusters, carriers, and TPAs
- Help keep projects moving when scheduling or production issues come up
- Make sure customers are receiving regular communication throughout their project
- Conduct regular job reviews with Project Managers
- Train and develop Project Managers
- Help improve reconstruction processes and procedures
- Work closely with estimating, accounting, mitigation, and company management
- Make sure completed projects are properly closed out and ready for final billing

Qualifications
- Experience in residential insurance restoration
- Strong understanding of insurance carrier and TPA workflows
- Experience working with carrier programs and managed repair networks is strongly preferred
- Experience in residential construction, reconstruction, remodeling, or general contracting
- Previous management or leadership experience
- Experience managing Project Managers is preferred
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling and job sequencing
- Experience working with subcontractors and vendors
- Ability to review estimates, budgets, and subcontractor pricing
- Understanding of job costing and project profitability
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Organized and able to manage multiple projects at one time
- Comfortable holding employees accountable
- Able to handle customer, carrier, TPA, and subcontractor issues professionally
- Comfortable using computers and project management software
- Valid driver's license
- Able to work full-time in person from our Millersville, Maryland office
